As a golf professional, it is imperative that I maintain myself as healthy as possible. When an injury occurs, it not only affects your ability to preform your job functions, but it interferes with your personal life as well. When I experience some recurring lower back pain coupled with severe shoulder pain, I went to my orthopedic surgeon who treated me by injecting my shoulder with cortisone. This alleviated some of the pain, but the problem persisted. I was convinced by my husband and others to go a different route and see a chiropractor. To say the least, I was very cynica and leery, but I was willing to try anything so that I could return to my active lifestyle. After a few treatments with Dr. McClure, my skepticism was gone. I realized that the pain was just symptomatic of an underlying cause, and to avoid recurrence, he needed to find and treat the source of the problem, not just the pain. In June of 2007, I had a seizure that encompassed my right side, including my right arm and leg. After the seizure, I experienced numbness, could not write with my right hand, and and had pain radiating from my neck into my right shoulder. My writing was not readable. The numbness in my leg travelled from my hip down to the bottom of my foot, making it difficult for me to drive, walk, and keep my balance for any length of time. My neurologist ordered a CAT scan and an MRI, but found nothing wrong. He sent me to a physical therapist for 2 months of treatment, which didn't solve the numbness problem nor the pain in my neck. My inability to balance and loss of energy was getting worse be yhr day.
Dr. Travagline treated me for the severe nrck and back pain. After a few weeks of treatments 3 times per week, I noticed a considerable change in how I felt by the 4th week. Since that time, my health and comfort have continued to improve to the point of having little or no pain in my arm, shoulder, and neck. My lower back has much improved also. This is something I never thought would be right again.
The care I have received from Dr. Travagline has helped me gain my health back again. Of all the doctors I've seen, Dr. Travagline's chiropractic treatments have given me the help I needed to put meaning back into my life.
